At the June 2025 Board of Directors meeting, it was decided to award a ‘grand prize’ to the Excellence in Craft competition. The Executive Director came up with several ideas, which he presented to the BOD. The one chosen was:

“Guiding the future of outdoor storytelling with excellence and integrity.”
The winner of the first Compass Award is Glenn Zinkus. Glenn was a pretty easy choice for the award this year. He had three entries in three different categories and won three first-place awards. His article “The Land Moved On” garnered a perfect score of 100. Congratulations, Glenn.
