2026 NOWA EIC Contest, for material published/broadcast January 1 to December 31, 2025
RULES
DEADLINE: Entries must be received by January 15, 2026. A late fee of $5 will be added to each entry received after that date, up until January 31, 2026, when entries will close. Winners will be announced at the conference in Coos Bay, OR.
HOW TO ENTER: All entries, except books, must be emailed in digital formal (.pdf, .jpg, etc.) to Keith Szafranski at the address below. No hard copies or other formats will be accepted. The name of the author need NOT be removed. Two copies of each physical book or a link to an accessible online entry must be submitted.
WHO CAN ENTER: Contest is open to NOWA members who have paid their 2026 dues and non-members for an additional fee. (See forms below.)
SUBMISSIONS: All submissions must be accompanied by an official entry form (see link below). Entries not using this form will be returned. Multiple-page entries must be submitted as a single file.
Physical books, along with entry fees, are to be sent to Keith Szafranski at the postal address on the entry forms. Easily accessible digital copies may be submitted (no sign-in, passwords, etc. needed).
NUMBER OF ENTRIES: A maximum of three entries per category.
RELEASE: By entering works in any category, entrants are granting NOWA one-time use in the NOWA newsletter and Website.
MULTIPLE BYLINES: Articles or photographs with two by-lines are accepted as a single entry.
JUDGING: Judges will be professional writers, editors, photographers and broadcasters, etc..
